Connecting a Repository

CodeContext connects to repositories on demand — there's no upfront registration step. When you paste a Git URL into the panel, CodeContext fetches the resource directly. If authorization is needed, you'll be prompted at that point.

Prerequisites

  • CodeContext installed on your Jira instance
  • A GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket account with access to the repository

Authorizing a Repository

  1. Open a Jira ticket and find the CodeContext panel
  2. Paste a Git URL pointing to a repository, folder, or file
  3. Enter a description of the change you want to make
  4. Click Analyze

If CodeContext doesn't have access to the repository yet, you'll see a File Not Accessible screen explaining possible reasons (not yet authorized, file doesn't exist, or insufficient permissions).

Click Authorize to grant CodeContext access to the repository. After authorization completes, you can retry the analysis.

Next Steps

Once you've authorized a repository, configure an AI provider so CodeContext can generate analysis.
